Summary
The CPCRN Patient Council members bring a diversity of lived experience into primary care research. Through servant leadership, and with guidance from Dr. Viv Ramsden, the group will speak to their experiences, as well as the beginnings of the Council itself and their drive to create a Community of Belonging to ensure that patient voices remain at the centre of primary care. They will also seek to learn from trainees, early career researchers and others, about their challenges and offer guidance in terms of available supports and resources.
Objectives
- To learn about the role and value of the Patient Council within the CPCRN.
- To support trainees, early career searchers, and others, in learning how meaningful engagement brings value to each member of the research team.
- To provide opportunities for trainees and early career researchers to ask questions around how to engage patients, build relationships, and co-create relational equity through shared understanding of patient-oriented research.
